Well this weekend sees one of the biggest sporting events of the year in the Super Bowl and with that comes loads of advertising for future releases. But this year the movie marketing has been taken a step further, as not only do we get new TV spots for the big summer releases during the game, we now also get teasers promoting the adverts for the movies in advance…
Yes below is a teaser for TV spot of The Avengers…
And another for John Carter…
Is this a bit too much? Or just another step in building hype for an upcoming release? Usually the teaser trailer hypes the movie, but the movie business has become such a big marketing machine we are now in a situation where we hype the trailer that is going to market the movie.
What are your thoughts?
