I wouldn't usually post or write about a computer game trailer on MoviePush, but as the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 trailer so blatantly rips off one of my favourite movie's marketing techniques I felt I had to point it out.

Looks pretty cool, but what frustrates me is the soundtrack, the repeating siren like sound. This technique builds tension and makes any trailer feel epic in scope, which is great, if it was original.
It's an idea that was made popular with the Inception trailer last year and since the success of that movie it seems every "cool" trailer has to have their own version of the repeating siren. Don't believe me, it was also used in the first Transformers: Dark Of The Moon TV Spot, seen here.
It's probably over-optimistic for me to wish mainstream Hollywood would get some new ideas, but it's even more annoying now that game advertising is using it as well! Do you agree?
Oh and incase you forgot here's the original Inception trailer that started this craze off in the first place...
